Wathbah

Overview

Wathbah is an original hand-carved wooden sculpture completed in 2026. It enters into dialogue with Above the Clouds by Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsin, not by illustrating the poem literally, but by responding to its energy of elevation, dignity, and aspiration.

At the summit of the composition, the Arabian horse rises in a suspended moment between departure and arrival, embodying renewal and the future toward which the Kingdom continues to move.

Beneath it, the bisht is transformed from a ceremonial garment into a containing structure. Its flowing form is inspired by the way His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman wears it, lending the sculpture both dignity and direction.

Within the hollow of the bisht appears a miniature scene of the unification army led by King Abdulaziz, while the base evokes the land and desert through its terrain. In this way, the past does not remain behind the movement; it becomes its first material—land, memory, and a force carrying Wathbah forward.
